Today's Photos

First up, the lovely Jade. Unfortunately she had suffered metacarpal paralysis in her front legs which you may notice in some of the photos. She gets around very well considering, but does not participate in the cheetah runs. She is a gorgeous friendly girl.

Secondly, more of the lovely snuggly Nala.

    1. That is a lovely thing to ask! Jade copes very well with her front legs the way they are. Unfortunately they will be like that for life - it is possible to fix but only with very serious surgery that Estelle doesn't want to put her through. She still walks and runs quite happily. They cause her pain sometimes, especially in winter, and for short periods of time she needs medication to help with the pain. But on the whole she lives a pretty normal life even though it looks a little bit funny :) I'll try to get some better pictures to show you.

    1. Hi girls, wow lots of questions! I think the most exciting thing was probably when I first arrived at the centre and suddenly realised that there was a cheetah right there across from the front door! Also today's cheetah run was pretty amazing, I will be writing a post about it and hopefully uploading a video as well.
My favourite cheetahs are probably the four that we interact with, simply because I've had a chance to get to know them better and spend time with them. That's Nala, Jasmine, Jade and Shaka. Nala is the sweetest and snuggliest, Shaka is the most playful and fun.
The first cheetah I went in with was Jade. She came straight up to me and head butted me in the legs! The feeling was just incredible, to interact with these beautiful creatures is exciting, fascinating and a lot of fun! I couldn't quite believe I was really here and doing what I'd so been looking forward to :)
I hope that answers your questions!
